I am an Actual Translator and Interpreter for the languages of English, German and Slovak.
And I've taught myself a little bit of Japanese, enough to converse with a buddy online and translate a few doujinshi for my friends.
Hello. The first time I interpreted from text, I was around 6 or 7. A neighbor kid from across the street, his dad was Polish and had access to the famous Warsaw Piracy Market. He'd bring home cool pirated games and we'd play them. He understood how to do the combat in Fallout 2 but he had no idea what anyone was saying in the dialogs. I got an unbelievable fright when Harold showed up on screen. The game taught me a very important lesson that day, one that sticks with me even now; beer does not heal HP. Many years later I would actually play the game myself and learn an important lesson about not judging a book by its cover and a man by his unbelievably scarred and sloughing-off facial tissue. Harold is a good guy, and I was wrong to dismiss him. Oh and somewhere inbetween it became apparent translating/interpreting is something I can do and at least at the time seemed like a good, modestly paid but freelance occupation I could pursue.
I have translated:

- SVK🔄ENG but also many that were released; including the slovak manual and technical sheet for the Honeywell Thera 4 thermostatic valve
- SVK➡ENG exhibition texts and book for both the Slovak National Museum and the Bratislava City Museum
- The slovak manuals for firearms sold at Hermes s.r.o., including
- ENG+GER➡SVK the H&K MR223/308, SFP9, P30
- ENG+GER➡SVK Winchester XPR and X-bolt, Browning Maral, BAR Mk3, Buck Mark
during Covid, my venerable clients tapered off, but there was an upsurge in people paying for things they wanted and liked. I got interesting commissions from other clients:
- GER➡ENG The manual for the Römerwerk Römer, a very interesting interwar combination pistol/rifle
- GER➡ENG The introduction to Reinke's Die Kunst der Weltanschauung
- SVK➡️ENG Various things for philosophy students' papers, chiefly summariesbut also a few complete texts.
I have interpreted:
- GER➡SVK At several annual Multiple Sclerosis events
- Including once inside the Parliament of the Slovak Republic
- where I chatted with an Attractive Camerawoman working for TV JOJ.
Other accomplishments:
- ENG+GER+SVK I also used to be a tour guide, showed a castle to the first lady of Singapore.
- SVK➡️ENG I've made fansubs for the excellent slovak tv show Mafiáni, probably available on youtube
- JPN➡️ENG I translated doujinshi I liked and put them on sadpanda. Many are now DMCA'd by the demons at former piracy websites (faku, irodor) which "went legit" and now go after people doing what they used to do. They remain available on chaika and backups. I harbor dreams of figuring out how to talk to japanese artists and pre-empt the copyright squatting that these companies perform.
